Inspiration for a Parking Garage Senior Session

Location, location, location. You know how much location matters for your photo session and that doesn’t stop applying for a graduating Senior. I wanted a variety of locations for my Seniors and found this gem of a spot for a rustic, modern, big-sky location. Check out the images below for inspiration for a parking garage senior session.

Big Open Sky

There is something lovely about the negative space that big open sky can create. You don’t normally get this much sky in city locations or garden settings. The open space gives your eye a rest and then draws attention to the subject. And you can’t beat the sunset colors either!

Angles and Lines

There are obviously the lines for the parking spots, but I find all the harsh angles and lines of the parking garage structure more fun. It gives room for playing with perspective, shadows, and directing attention to the subject.

Modern Feel

The sparkle of the metal buildings in the background, the glow of far-off interior lights, and a neutral concrete palette are all great aspects of a parking garage. I used the 85mm for some images to make the Senior pop off the background and really give an elegant feel to an otherwise grungy garage.

This Senior graduate was so fun to work with. He was happy to be celebrating this milestone and up for anything during the session. We worked together to choose the perfect outfits and I love every single picture in his gallery!
