Photo display ideas for family pictures | Springfield, VA Family and Senior Photographer

The email you have been waiting for has arrived: “Your gallery from Kyle the Girl Photography is ready!”. Jump for joy, open the gallery, and slowly click through and savor each image on the large screen of your computer (this is how I imagine it to be, don’t inform me otherwise!). But now what do you do with the photos? First off, I hope you download them! It seems obvious, but sometimes that step gets missed and saved for later. Once you have them on your computer then share them with friends and family! You can post to social media if that’s your thing, text to friends, share the gallery with grandparents, make one your phone lock screen – go crazy!

I hate to think that your lovely family or Senior session photos sit on your computer and it all ends there. PLEASE don’t tell me if that’s what happens to them! There are so many options and neat ideas for ways to display your images. For a classic print I like mpix or Nations Photo Lab. They are both high quality for a reasonable price. I love prints for quickly sharing with grandparents, friends, and updating frames around my house. They are a fantastic, low-cost way to get some of the images up and around your home quickly. Here are some other wonderful options for displaying your images.

First, some beautiful and unique options to create wall art for your home and spice up any space.
– Wood cleat and print: this is a clean and simple way to display one of your favorite images

– Photo ledge paired with some square prints or ultra-thick prints

– Canvas prints or gallery blocks: classic options that have great archival quality

– Metal prints or metal print standoffs: these have a more modern look and feel and work GREAT with the right image

– Mixtiles: these can be printed straight from the app on your phone or from their website online. The 8×8” tiles can stick (and re-stick) to your wall and don’t make marks. These inexpensive tiles would be perfect for the kids bedroom or bathroom.

– Standouts from mpix: a great alternative to a canvas, a standout gives you photo some pop off the wall.

– Collagewall or Gallery Wall: if you have a nearly empty wall then this is for you! Second, some alternative ways to display your photos.
– Acrylic blocks: these are such a unique look and will really call some attention to your photo. They are available at many companies such as here at Nations Photo Lab.

– Calendar: a perfect option for viewing your images all year long. There are desk calendars, one sheet calendars, easel calendars, and traditional wall calendars.  

– Small album: these cost-effective albums are handy to pass to the kids to flip through and not worry about. They are called various things like Buzz Books or economy album. Other services like chatbooks are easy to make and are great quality for the price. 

– Accordion book: A perfect gift for grandparents or family! These mini books stand up on their own and can display multiple different photos at once. 

– Magnets: I personally LOVE magnets for my home! They are fun for the kids to play with and they hold up artwork. I also gift them to grandparents to keep on their fridge. These fun little 3” circle magnets or these rectangle, flat magnets are perfect. 

– Thumbprint photo box: these store and display your photos all in one! 

– Signature photo album: the layflat photo album by Mpix is a classic and beautiful design

– Puzzles: you can be super kid-friendly by printing an image on a puzzle. How fun!
