A perfect gift for Grandma | Alexandria, VA Extended Family Photographer

Are you looking for a perfect gift for Grandma? Maybe for her birthday, Mothers Day, or Christmas? Or maybe your family is gathering together and you want to capture that time for all of you to enjoy. In the session below, the two sisters went in together for an extended family photo session for their mom’s birthday. One sister has been living overseas for many years and just moved back this summer. It was the first time they all lived in the same state in a long time! I thought it was such a sweet idea to give this special gift to their mom. With 5 grandkids (and one more on the way) to love, this Grandma’s heart is full.

We met at Fort Washington National Park on a perfect day in October. Everyone was in good spirits and happy to be around each other. I would also include myself in that because I met this lovely family in the early 90’s. We lived on the same street and growing up, my sister and I were best friends with them. We kept in touch via social media and when they moved to the neighboring state we can now have had playdates with our kids! It’s a small world sometimes, isn’t it?

I was so honored to be the one to capture all the giggles, happiness, and energy this family has for each other. I have had a few really amazing experiences in my career that I could have never planned and this was one of them! And if you asked 6-year-old me if I would photograph their whole family one day in 2020 I would have looked at you like you were crazy. I love how connections come back to us in life.
