2023 Client Superlative Awards
It’s that time of year again! I love going through all my photography sessions from this past year and creating the 2023 Client Superlative Awards. Each session has it’s own personality, adventures, and moments. Without further ado, the awards!
2023 Client Superlative Awards – High School Seniors
Warmest Smile
This High School Senior was relaxed and knew how to have fun at his session. He had a warm personality and it shown through in his smile.
Coolest Car
Is this what you drove to high school? Didn’t think so! This Senior is cooler than all of us. Including his special car into his session was an exciting challenge.
Most Athletic
Field hockey and wrestling – this girl can do it all!
Best Rainy Day Session
I love a good reflection due to rain puddles but the parking garage lights make this session take the cake. The clouds parted after a storm and it made for a truly unique High School Senior session.
Best Match with the Location
What theater junkie wouldn’t want to take their photos at the Kennedy Center? The new extension of The Reach was a lovely and perfect fit for this Senior.
He is “Kenough”
Maybe it’s the pink afterglow of the sunset, but I’m got Barbie Movie vibes from this picture. This Senior was confident and fun and obviously, Kenough.
2023 Client Superlative Awards – Family
Best Backdrop
The ideal location for mid-November, this spot is the clear winner for the 2023 Client Superlative Awards. The reflection of in the water and contrast of bright, colorful leaves against the rocks, I would go here again and again.
Best Smiles
Who said you can’t do family photos with big kids? Not me! This family rocked it and their faces show it!
Cutest Couple
Could it get any more precious and loving than this? This photo was part of an extended family session and this portrait of grandma and grandpa is my favorite.
Sweetest Siblings
Possibly the sweetest little brothers you’ve ever seen. This toddler was so kind with his baby brother and this family had a great time at their session.
Most Calories Burned at a Session
Calories burned by them, not me! These sisters had a blast running in circles, literally, around their parents.
Slyest Grin
I think the photo says it all – mischievous and adorable!
Best Wildflowers
This spot is one of my all-time favorites during Fall with all of its colorful wildflowers. This family hit the jackpot and their outfits were perfect with the flowers and foliage.
Most Epic Eyes
This sibling pair had the most beautiful and unique eyes so it must run in the family. Getting a catchlight (the shiny, bright spot on the eyes) is key to a good portrait.
Most Kissable Baby
This tiny human was so adorable and happy for their session. Her squishy cheeks and happy mood makes her an obvious winner for this award.
Best Versatile Outfits
You can’t go wrong with black, white, and grey! The use of subtle texture in heather grey, black and white plaid, and a white sweater dress was perfect. Styling is key!
Best “Nose Kiss”
I often ask clients if they want to do a little nose kiss but this one is my top pick for 2023. The light, composition, and colors are beautiful!
