Choosing a Location for Your Senior
It’s time to start thinking about senior portraits for graduating high school Seniors. When it comes to choosing a location for your Senior, I suggest you consider these four points.
1. Choose a location for your Senior with a variety of spots.
Having a location with multiple backgrounds or settings is key. Some locations provide only 1 or 2 types of backgrounds while others have many more. The two sessions pictured below are at two different locations but all within a 10 minute walk. The Georgetown spot is always full of surprises too!
2. Consider what your Senior will wear.
Outfits can make or break a session so I cannot stress enough that they matter. Think flattering and enhances their personality, not fashionable and trendy. Does the outfit pop or contrast with the background? Does the outfit make your Senior’s personality shine or distract from it? Does the outfit go with the background or make your Senior disappear into the background? Will they be popping into college gear for a few? These are all things to consider when choosing a location for your Senior.
3. Does the hobby determine location?
Certain hobbies take the lead and really drive the decision on where we hold a session. These two Seniors had a love for old cars so we found a perfect spot without too many distractions.
4. Classic and modern might fit the bill.
With neutral colors and big, open sky this modern yet classic location might be a winner for you. Almost any outfit will work with this location, it can accommodate most hobbies, and it changes at dusk quite dramatically.
